Getting the size right the first time saves you a trip to the returns portal &#x2014; here&apos;s how to measure like a pro.Every brand sizes differently, so we always recommend measuring yourself and checking the size guide on the product page of the item you want &#x2014; that&apos;s where you&apos;ll find the exact chart for that style.Footwear<ul><li>Measure the length of your foot in centimetres and convert it using the size guide.</li></ul>Jackets and topsMeasure in your underwear for the most accurate result.<ul><li>Chest: around the fullest part, keeping the tape firmly under your armpits and across your shoulder blades.</li><li>Waist: slightly below your natural waist, where you normally wear your trousers. Slip a finger under the tape so the fit isn&apos;t too tight.</li><li>Sleeve: bend your arm slightly and measure from the centre back of your neck, across the shoulder, down to the elbow and on to the wrist.</li><li>Hip: around the fullest part.</li></ul>Trousers<ul><li>Waist: around the narrowest part, usually just above your belly button.&#xA0;Hold the tape slightly tight.</li><li>Hip: around the widest part, tape slightly tight.</li><li>Inseam: take a pair of trousers that fit you well, lay them flat, and measure from the crotch seam straight down to the bottom of the leg.</li></ul>Then compare your measurements with the size guide on the product page.Still unsure? If it differs from the general guidance below, follow the product label.Water-friendly footwear<ul><li>Never use chlorine, bleach or sports cleaning foam &#x2014; they damage the shoe.</li><li>Remove the insoles and wash them by hand.</li><li>Shake out any sand, gravel or dirt from inside.</li><li>Clean the outside with a cloth or brush and warm water.</li><li>Machine washable on a short cycle at 30&#xB0;C.</li><li>No fabric softener, no bleach, no tumble drying.</li><li>Air dry at moderate temperature &#x2014; keep them away from direct heat or hot rooms.</li></ul>Waterproof footwear<ul><li>Do not machine wash &#x2014; it damages the membrane and the waterproofing.&#xA0;No chlorine, bleach or cleaning foam either.</li><li>Remove the insoles and wash them by hand.</li><li>Shake out sand, gravel and dirt.</li><li>Clean the outside with a cloth or brush and warm water.</li><li>Air dry at moderate temperature, away from direct heat.</li><li>Water-repellency fades with use &#x2014; re-apply a water-repellent spray after cleaning for best results.</li></ul>Backpacks and luggage<ul><li>Wipe the inside and outside with a damp cloth after each trip and let it air dry.</li><li>Don&apos;t fully submerge them in water.</li><li>For stubborn stains, use a mild, non-toxic soap on the cloth &#x2014; never apply it directly to the product.</li></ul>Jackets<ul><li>Wash cold (30&#xB0;C), tumble dry on low heat, iron on low heat (110&#xB0;C), do not bleach.</li></ul>Trousers<ul><li>Machine wash cold (30&#xB0;C) &#x2014; the water-repellent coating is delicate, and cold water reduces friction so it lasts longer. Wash separately, or with items that have no velcro or zips, and never with shoes.</li><li>Do not tumble dry or bleach. Iron on low heat (110&#xB0;C), avoiding direct contact with the fabric surface &#x2014; it can turn shiny.</li><li>No washing machine? Hand wash in cool water with a gentle detergent, rinse well and dry out of direct sunlight.</li></ul>

The mesh lets some water through, so these are made for swimming, puddles and heavy rain in warm weather &#x2014; not for keeping your feet dry.Waterproof (footwear)A technical membrane helps keep water out in wet conditions. It is designed for unpredictable weather, but protection can vary with use and the footwear shouldn&apos;t be submerged.Water-repellent / weatherproof (backpacks, luggage, trousers)Materials are treated (DWR coating, PU backing, or both) so water beads off rather than soaking in. In a full day of heavy rain, water can still find its way through the seams. Fully waterproof options exist in some products &#x2014; the product page will say.JacketsWaterproofing is measured in millimetres (mm): the higher the number, the more rain it handles.&#xA0;Breathability is measured in g/m&#xB2;/24h.
